FilmWatch
FilmWatch focuses on film watching reporting and notifications in order for a film snob to maintain or change their film watching habits. This desktop/mobile application also focuses and watches on everyday habits. These types of awareness are what film snobs would love to watch for.
My project concept is to design a settings view for a habit-tracking application for a film snob.
This project concept came from my first course I took through UCLA Extension for UI/UX Certification.

Empathy Map
These are the empathy maps I did while discovering on what could my ideal users for FilmWatch. The first empathy map, as seen below, my discover of my ideal user. Afterwards, I interviewed three people and used their feedback for the next three empathy maps with “tester” labels.
Target Personas & Journey Maps
The empathy maps and the interviews I conducted for them helped me with my target personas and their journey maps. The first persona occasionally watches films. The second persona watches films for his work/podcast. The third persona needs this application to help her focus on her daily habits than watching films.
Site Map
Having all the information I needed from the interviews and target users and their journey maps, it helped me create the site map for the FilmWatch application. I first created the site map as an overlook on how the FilmWatch should work while in the update version focuses on the “Settings View” section of this application.
Challenge
The challenge I faced with the FilmWatch application was learning new things and skills for UI/UX. This project concept came from my first course through the UCLA Extension program for UI/UX Certification. I personally loved taking this course and applying the skills throughout this project. I enjoyed watching this project grow to something I can potentially do in the future and for me to gain many new skills I can use in future job roles.
Growth
I am happy taking this UI/UX certification through UCLA Extension. It has me learning new things I didn’t learned before in my current job role. It has taught me UI/UX Designer is the right path for me. I have great people and communication skills. I have no problem talking to others and my curiosity to learn about their behavior around a product or concept. Meanwhile, I also have a terrific mindset on creating great designs with solutions integrated in them. My professor praised my application being a systematic application.
In all, I am a UI/UX Designer.
