Subservicing Client Setup Portal Application
Subservicing Client Setup Portal web application was part of the Subservicing project for Pennymac. They wanted a central located application to store the data of all the subservicing clients Pennymac will be working for. The client’s company and contact information would be displayed on here as well with other information needed to service their loans.
I was in charge of designing the whole web application and the flow of it by myself.

Challenge
The challenge I went through this project was experiencing having a managing director and tech developer having a bigger say to the overall design. My original design for this application can be seen below. My design had users in mind in every possible way and it gave the best user experience. However, the moment the managing director wanted the design to be like a query and to be his vision, I couldn’t gave my own word or voice on being a mistake due to my job title limitations.
Then, with the tech developer, I couldn’t say anything against how he coded the actual application with misalignments and not being user friendly. We were limited due to the date release and it had to be released exactly how he coded it.
Result
The Subservicing Client Setup Portal application was released in June 2025. No users have said anything negative or complains about the application. It is working how they would like it to work.
Growth
This project pushed me to want to focus as a UI/UX Designer. I want to create and solve problems that will help users with their needs. I want to make user friendly products. I don’t want to design products based on what upper management wants for it to be like or for a tech developer to have the control on the look.
I am a UI/UX Designer because I know and understand what will be the best design for users and make it usable for their needs. That’s my main focus and principle as I grow myself in this career.
